Designed especially for neurobiologists, FluoRender is an interactive tool for multi-channel fluorescence microscopy data visualization and analysis.
Deep brain stimulation
BrainStimulator is a set of networks that are used in SCIRun to perform simulations of brain stimulation such as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and magnetic transcranial stimulation (TMS).
Developing software tools for science has always been a central vision of the SCI Institute.

Visualization Journal Club - Spring 2014

Mission Statement

This group aims to facilitate students and faculty knowledge of state-of-the-art techniques in all areas of Visualization (scientific visualization, information visualization, and visual analytics). To accomplish this, as a group we will read and discuss seminal works, best papers, and other papers of interest.


Format

  • A 2-3 paragraph paper summary will be provided the night before the meeting.
  • At the open, the discussion leader will summarize the paper.
  • Open discussion will commence.

Responsibilities

  • All attendies:
    • Read paper ahead of meeting.
    • Come prepared with:
      • 1 positive attribute of the paper
      • 1 negative attribute of the paper
      • 1 question about the paper or a topic for future research
  • Discussion Leader:
    • Night before: Prepare a 2-3 paragraph summary (include 1 or 2 images) and mail it to the whole group. Note: this summary will be posted to the SCI Visualization Blog.
    • Opening: The student will give a 5-10 minute overview of the paper.
  • Moderator:
    • Keep discussion flowing
