Job Summary |
· Installs, upgrades, and supports operating systems (OpenSUSE, CentOS, and Ubuntu)
· Installs and manages NVIDIA drivers on linux and GPU servers in general
· Works with and resolves issues with SLURM schedulers
· Manages GPU and CPU clusters
· Installs and configures Database, web, print, authentications (LDAP & NIS) and DNS servers
· Occasionally assists and provides guidance to help desk support team
· As a valued team member performs other assigned tasks under guidance of supervisor
· Participates in occasional weekends and after office hours work

Responsibilities |
The applicant is expected to possess expert level of understanding of various flavors of Linux operating systems, like OpenSUSE, CentOS, and Ubuntu, as they install and maintain these Linux servers. The incumbent manages NVIDIA drivers and installs them on individual servers, as well as, GPU clusters with related CUDA Toolkits and sample programs. The applicant is familiar with and manages clusters, both GPU and CPU.
The person selected for this job installs and configures databases (mysql and postgresql), Web (apache, Joomla CMS), print (Cups), authentication (LDAP and NIS), DNS, and DHCPD servers.
Other tasks and projects can be assigned by supervisor as seen fit. Nature of IT jobs requires occasional weekends and after office hours work.
The incumbent is required to participate actively in after hours work when it’s scheduled.

Minimum Qualifications |
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency with at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. |
Preferences |
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience working at University environment to assist faculty, staff, and students is helpful.
