Thiago starts down Mineral Basin from just left of the gunning
platform. I managed to get myself to the mountain by 8:30am so I
got some first tracks on the far right Gad Chutes. By the time we took
these pictures around 11am it was getting pretty cut up, although there
were still sections of knee deep powder.
Thiago is waist deep in it.
I set my camera to take multiple exposures while I held down the
shutter key. I ended up taking about 20 pictures during Thiago's first
run....
The weather was very reasonable, it was mostly cloudly, but the clouds
were above the summit and the visibility was great.
The very top of the Basin just under the cat track was a little thick
and it seemed that there was some debris under the powder, but 50 feet
or so below it softened up a bit.
I think Thiago got better shots of me then I of him...
I still managed to find some fun.
We skied a few runs in Mineral Basin and then switched over to the
Cirque.
Thiago drops into the Cique. I dropped in immediately in front of where
I was standing (which turned out to be corniced). Thiago reported more
powder on his line then I found on mine.
I seem to have to always have a picture of my car in these photos.
