Background

The de Lacy Laboratory at the University of Utah uses computational science to further mental health and substance use research. We are particularly interested in analyzing data from free-living humans and naturalistic environments such as wearable sensors, games and electronic health records.

Our research includes:

  • Developing new analytic approaches, especially for sequence and timeseries data
  • Advancing our understanding of how mental illnesses and crises develop and identifying people at risk sooner
  • Performing clinical trials of AI
  • Exploring the impact of AI on psychiatric practice and providers
