Background

Dr. Rosen received his Ph.D. from the Computer Science Department of Purdue University in 2010. He subsequently became a Postdoctoral Fellow (2010) and a Research Assistant Professor (2011 to 2015) at the Scientific Computing and Imaging (SCI) Institute and School of Computing at the University of Utah. He was then an Assistant (2015-2021) and Associate Professor (2021-2022) at the University of South Florida before rejoining the University of Utah.

Research Interests

Dr. Rosen’s research interests lie at the intersection of scientific and information visualization, where he utilizes a mix of human-centered design and geometry- and topology-based approaches to improve the efficacy of visualization tools.
