Forward

The following is a list of topics that were covered in the cardiovascular section of the Bioengineering 3202 course in the 2006 edition. I expect students to be familiar with each of the concepts and ideas and will draw from this list for the final exam.

Note: although the exam period is two hours, I will organize the exam similarly to the midterms, i.e., to take about an hour to complete.

For Final Exam

Cardiovascular System

  1. Overview and structure of cardiovascular system
  2. Structural and mechanical characteristics of blood vessels
  3. Control of blood pressure (local and central, barorecepters)
  4. Measurement of blood pressure
  5. Response of the CV system to exercise
  6. Basics of cardiac ischemia and arrhythmias
