David Perry - Research Assistant
supervisor Dr. Orly Alter
Background
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Utah majoring in both Computer Science and Quantitative Analysis of Markets and Organizations. My previous field experience includes working as a research assistant at the University's Department of Molecular Biology with Dr. Con Yost, conducting experiments based on advancing ARDS treatment methods by employing human protein array testing to discover the impact of various proteins on the development of neutrophil extracellular traps. The year before I also worked as an intern at the University's Environmental Health and Safety department, coding and developing laboratory safety training modules. I enjoy completing data science projects, and during the school year I work as a self-started academic tutor for the ACT for high school students.
